Bridal Draping Project

This Bridal dress was the final group project for draping and couture techniques. The dress sought out inspiration from an image of an unused variation on the statue of liberty. The group wanted to explore referencing unused variations of known final products with culture, media, and art. Also, the dress includes unconventional construction techniques into the fold of bridal expansion upon what a bride could look like. For instance, three different skirts are featured throughout the dress (ruffled, flounced, and pleated), zipper teeth are used as an edge finish throughout, and a pull up shirt piece that can be worn up or down is featured for variation in styling. The project was completed in collaboration with Lisa Nambesa, Asjana Richards, Amanda Chavez, Alana Haynes, Issa Solis.
